Bryan grew up in Southern California, and after high school, enlisted in the United States Army. After his initial training, he was selected to be part of the 75th Ranger Regiment, part of the United States Special Operations Command. After sixteen years, he retired from law enforcement and attended the University of Idaho College of Law, graduating in 2015 and earning a place on the Dean’s List each semester.
After law school, Bryan was in private practice before joining the Boise City Attorney’s Office, where he was one of the primary legal advisors for the Boise Police Department. Bryan taught the legal portion of the Boise Police Department Basic Law Enforcement Academy and assisted in developing the legal curriculum for all Idaho Police Officers through the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training. He also served as the primary legal advisor for the City of Boise on drone law issues. He has published an article on drone law and has spoken nationally on the subject. Bryan returned to private practice in 2023.
Bryan has been married to his wife, Patty, for nearly thirty years and they have five children and two grandchildren. He is active in community service with his church and enjoys providing pro bono legal work. In 2018, Bryan was recognized as a Leader in Law by the Idaho Business Review.
