Smart – Efficient – Legal Solutions
Darrell J. Gubbels brings decades of legal experience and a deep commitment to serving his community. He was first admitted to the practice of law before the Nebraska Supreme Court where he practiced for nine years before relocating to Colorado. In 1986, he established the Gubbels Law Office in Castle Rock, where he has served individuals, families, and businesses for more than four decades.
Throughout his career, Darrell has focused on helping clients navigate important life and business decisions with thoughtful legal guidance. While he has provided legal services across a variety of practice areas, he has found the greatest satisfaction in working with clients on estate planning matters. Darrell believes the most valuable part of the estate planning process is asking the right questions—helping clients reflect on their goals, values, and long-term plans so they can make informed decisions that protect both their families and their assets.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law after completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska College of Business Administration. Darrell is admitted to practice before the Colorado Supreme Court and is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Trust & Estate Section. Over the years, he has served in numerous professional leadership roles, including as a Board of Governors Representative for the Colorado Bar Association and as past president, secretary, and treasurer of the Douglas/Elbert County Bar Association.
Darrell has been recognized with the Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, the highest rating awarded by the organization for professional excellence and ethical standards.
Outside of his legal practice, Darrell has been deeply involved in the Castle Rock community for many years. He has been a member of the Castle Rock Rotary Club since 1986, serving in numerous leadership roles including president, director, and treasurer, as well as participating in youth scholarship and international exchange programs. His community service also includes work with the Castle Rock Home Rule Charter Commission and the Castle Rock Downtown Development Authority.
In his spare time, Darrell enjoys spending time with his family and taking advantage of Colorado’s outdoors through activities such as skiing, golfing, hiking, and fly fishing.
